Top 5 New Resorts for 2027 Destination Weddings
If you’re planning a late 2026 or 2027 destination wedding, now is the time to start watching the newest all-inclusive resorts entering the market. Today, I’m breaking down five highly anticipated properties — some newly opened, some opening soon — that I believe will be incredibly popular for 2027 weddings.
We’re counting down from #5 to my most anticipated resort at #1.
#5 – Secrets Mirabel Cancun
Located in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone, Secrets Mirabel Cancun is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort that officially opened in November 2025. The property previously operated as Now Emerald Cancun before closing in 2023 for major renovations and reopening under the elevated Secrets brand.
By 2027, this resort will be fully polished and experienced in hosting destination weddings — which is important when choosing a venue.
Secrets is one of the most established brands for weddings in Mexico and the Caribbean. Couples can typically choose from beachfront ceremonies, terrace venues, and elegant indoor spaces. Their packages are romantic, upscale, and designed to be simple for couples planning from afar.
One major perk? Secrets offers generous room block promotions, including complimentary room nights awarded as cash credits to the wedding couple. Many of my couples earn thousands of dollars back, which can be used toward wedding extras.
If you want a classic Cancun wedding with modern design and adults-only ambiance, this is a strong contender.
#4 – Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana
Opening in Spring 2026 (keeping in mind that new builds don’t always open exactly on schedule), this massive new resort is being developed by The Palace Company — the team behind the well-known Moon Palace properties in Mexico.
With over 2,000 suites, this will be one of the largest oceanfront resorts in Punta Cana. Expect multiple pools, a golf course, full-service spa, and extensive dining options.
This property will appeal most to couples planning large weddings — especially 100–200+ guests or multi-day celebrations such as South Asian weddings. Large resorts aren’t necessary for every wedding, but they can make logistics much easier when hosting big groups.
If you’re looking for boutique charm and intimacy, this may not be your venue. But if you want amenities, scale, and serious wow-factor, this one should absolutely be on your radar.
#3 – UNICO Vallarta
Opened in September 2025 on Mexico’s Pacific Coast in Nuevo Vallarta, UNICO Vallarta is a brand-new, design-forward build located next to Hard Rock Vallarta.
UNICO properties are known for their boutique-style atmosphere, elevated food, and strong connection to local culture. That carries beautifully into their wedding experiences. Think ocean-view terraces, sunset ceremonies, and a more refined, adults-leaning environment.
Puerto Vallarta is famous for its dramatic coastline and golden-hour lighting, making it ideal for couples who want a scenic, romantic setting that feels less “mega-resort.”
They also offer valuable wedding promotions, including complimentary private functions based on guest count, room night credits, and potential upgrades.
If you want intimacy without sacrificing all-inclusive convenience, UNICO Vallarta is a standout option.
#2 – Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa & Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa
Opened in September 2025 along the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, this dual-branded property offers something truly unique.
Dreams Resorts & Spas has long been one of the most popular wedding brands for couples inviting families, thanks to flexible packages and strong group-friendly layouts. Dreams Playa Esmeralda is all-ages, while Secrets Playa Esmeralda next door is adults-only.
What makes this location especially appealing is the crossover access. Guests 18+ can enjoy amenities at both resorts (excluding club-level sections), meaning couples can offer guests the choice of adults-only or family-friendly accommodations — without separating the group experience.
Like other properties under this brand, couples can earn complimentary room nights as cash credits toward their wedding budget.
Miches is more natural and less developed than Punta Cana, giving weddings here a tropical, immersive feel. It’s about an hour from the airport, but the setting feels secluded and special.
This is ideal for couples inviting kids, parents, and extended family — without sacrificing elegance.
#1 – Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres
My most anticipated resort for 2027 destination weddings is Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres.
With a soft opening in December 2025 and grand opening in January 2026, this property is already booking weddings well into 2026 and beyond.
The Majestic brand is known for handling large-scale weddings seamlessly, offering generous inclusions and multiple event spaces designed specifically for destination celebrations.
Located in Costa Mujeres, one of the most desirable wedding areas near Cancun, the beaches are wide, the water is calm, and the atmosphere feels more secluded and upscale than the main Hotel Zone.
Couples can choose from beachfront venues, garden spaces, a sky gazebo, chapel, and large reception areas — making it perfect for full wedding weekends with welcome events, ceremony, reception, and farewell brunch all in one location.
If you want a resort truly built to host events, this is the one to watch.
Final Thoughts
Each of these resorts offers a different vibe — from boutique and adults-only to large-scale and family-friendly. The right choice will depend on your guest count, budget, and overall vision.
